Cycle Time
Cycle time is the amount of time it takes to finish one cycle of a process. This can be a business process or a manufacturing process. It is the amount of time between the start of one process cycle and the start of the next cycle.
You can figure out the cycle time by dividing the total time spent on a process by the number of cycles that have been done. For example, if it takes 20 minutes to finish one cycle in a manufacturing process and 10 cycles are done in a day, then the cycle time is 2 minutes.
Cycle time is a key metric that is used to improve and optimise a process. By cutting down on cycle time, organisations can boost their output, productivity, and efficiency. It can also help find places where the process gets stuck and improve how the whole thing works.
