Submitting PMP Application
Before You Submit
You should keep in mind that filling up the application for PMP needs to be done carefully. PMI can reject your application or you might be required to undergo an audit. PMI bans people who provide misleading or false information if they discover so. Please take care of the following points.
- Only professional project work experience is to be represented in your PMP Application.
- The following examples of experiences that are unacceptable (Check details)
- List each of the projects separately.
- Don’t combine several projects into one post.
- Mention the project’s actual name or a brief summary of its goals, not my position within it.
- Briefly summarize the project’s overall scope for each of the project descriptions.
- Don’t include mundane, operational, or administrative duties and responsibilities in my project entries.
- Give accurate information regarding the number of team members involved in this project and the project’s budget.
- If you are chosen (PMI randomly picks applications for audit) for the PMI audit you should be in a position to provide evidence of your claims about your education, training, and project experiences.
Fill Up Application and Submit
Once you have found that you are eligible to apply for PMP and gathered all the required project details, it is time to fill up the PMP application.

- Once you start your application you have 90 days to complete it.
- After you submit your application you might be audited by PMI and in such cases you should be able to provide evidences.
After Submitting Your PMP Application
- Be prepared for the audit – As part of the audit, PMI will require someone as a reviewer of your project management experiences. Have a supervisor or colleague who can do that for you.
- Track the status of your application in the PMI Applicant Dashboard.
