Description
It is a technique to reflect the commonality and differences among several ideas to help build new ideas or present complex ideas in a consolidated manner. It is often done by merging several ideas collected from various brainstorming sessions. It is an effective way to get the information out of your bran.
It usually will have a center (main idea) and other ideas will radiate from them. It is similar to a city map that you use while navigating through a busy town but here the ideas are locations and the relationships are the roads. It is done by creating a central idea, then adding branches to it at several levels multiple times. Appropriate keywords are often used, branches are colored, and texts and images are included whenever needed. This gives a visual representation of the entire thought about specific aspects of a topic in project management. The tool is extremely useful in quality and requirements management. It is also used by the project managers to understand and manage the stakeholders well.
