Claim administration is the process of assessing, validating, negotiating, and resolving claims. It includes the preparation and submission of documentation supporting the claim. In other words, it’s the process of making sure that all claims are properly documented and resolved in a timely manner.
Claim administration is an important part of project management especially in the area of contract management in Project Procurement Mgmt., as it can have a major impact on the overall success of a project. Claims can arise from a variety of different sources, including changes in scope, schedule delays, or cost overruns. Therefore, it’s critical that project managers have a good understanding of claim administration in order to effectively manage claims and avoid disruptions to the project.
It is the process of documenting, processing, monitoring, managing, and communicating the claims related to a contract.
