Timebox
Timeboxing is a project management method that involves giving a task, activity, or piece of work a fixed and predetermined amount of time and limiting the amount of work that can be done in that time.
It is often used in Agile and Scrum frameworks for developing software.
A timebox is a set amount of time that must be used to finish a certain task or activity. Depending on the task or activity, it is usually a short amount of time, from a few hours to a few weeks.
In Agile software development, timeboxing is often used for planning iterations and sprints. The team agrees on a set of tasks that can be done in a set amount of time, usually one or two weeks. The team then works to finish those tasks within the timeframe that was set. If any tasks aren’t finished within the timeframe, they are moved to a later timeframe or given a different priority.
