Strategic Plan
In project management, a strategic plan is a high-level document that lays out the project’s goals, objectives, and priorities, as well as the steps that need to be taken to reach them. A strategic plan is like a road map for the project. It helps make sure that the resources and activities are in line with the project’s overall goals and vision.
Typically, a strategic plan has the following parts:
- Vision statement: This describes the project’s overall goal and what it wants to accomplish.
- In the mission statement, you explain what the project is for and how it will be done to reach the vision.
- Objectives: These are specific goals that can be measured that the project will try to reach.
- Strategies: These are the big ideas that will be used by the project to reach its goals.
- Action plans are the detailed tasks and activities that will be done to put the strategies into action.
- Performance metrics: These are the things that will be used to measure how well the project is going and how close it is getting to its goals.
- Risk management: This describes the possible risks the project could face and how they will be dealt with.
Most of the time, the strategic plan is made at the start of the project and is used to help make decisions throughout the project’s lifecycle. The plan should be looked at and changed often to make sure it is still useful and in line with the project’s goals.
