Description
The information demands of the project’s stakeholders are determined by the analysis of communication requirements. These requirements for communications are defined by combining the type and structure of required information with an evaluation of the importance of the information.
Typical ways used to obtain project communication requirements include, but are not limited to, the following –
- Stakeholder information and communication requirements from the stakeholder registry and stakeholder engagement strategy
- Number of potential communication channels or paths, including one-to-one, one-to-many, and many-to-many communications
- Organizational charts
- Logistics of how many people will be involved in the project and at what locations
- Internal information needs (e.g., when communications are required)
- External information needs
- Project organization and stakeholder responsibility, relationships, and interdependencies
- Development approach
- Disciplines, departments, and specialties involved in the project
