Project Vision Statement
A project vision statement is a clear, short description of how the project should turn out or how it should be when it’s done. It explains the project’s purpose, goals, and objectives in a way that is clear to everyone involved, such as team members, sponsors, and customers.
A well-written vision statement for a project should answer the following:
What issue or chance does the project try to solve?
What do you think the project will do or how will it help?
Who are the people the project is meant to help?
What are the project’s most important parts or features?
How long will it take to finish the project, and when will it be done?
Here’s what a project vision statement for a new mobile app might look like:
“Our project is to make a mobile app that helps professionals keep track of their daily tasks and get more done. The app will have features like putting tasks in order of importance, setting reminders, and keeping track of time. Professionals between the ages of 25 and 45 who are looking for an easy and effective way to manage their busy schedules are our main customers. We think that the app will make users 20% more productive in the first year after it comes out. Within six months, the project will be done and will be available on both Android and iOS.”
