Negotiation |
A leadership skill that is used to achieve support or agreement and resolve conflicts in a project. The negotiation can be done one to be done with a team. It is an important skill that must be honed by a Project Manager.
It is used in procurement management to negotiate the contract terms and win the contract. It is used in resource management to use the negotiating skills of the Project Manager with the Functional Managers and sometimes the vendors to get the best or the most appropriate resources. It is also used to ensure the timely availability of resources as per the need of the hour during the course of project management. It is used with the stakeholder management to maintain the stakeholder relations to get continued support and buy-in from stakeholders on various critical decisions of the project.
