The Level of Effort (LoE) in project management is analogous to the continual assistance required to keep things operating well, akin to watering a garden on a regular basis to maintain the plants healthy. It is the amount of work that is required to support other tasks or activities in a project but does not necessarily result in a concrete output. LoE activities are more concerned with the time and effort expended than with the output, such as providing constant assistance, monitoring progress, or sustaining particular procedures throughout the project’s lifespan. It’s the behind-the-scenes effort that keeps things running smoothly without actually producing anything new.
