The Float in project management is akin to having some wiggle space in your calendar, such as additional time between courses or appointments. The flexibility of a job or activity permits it to be postponed without affecting the overall project completion. Consider it as extra time in your day—if one activity is completed sooner than expected, that time becomes your float. In projects, it is a buffer of time inside tasks that may be used without affecting other tasks or the project’s ultimate date, allowing for unforeseen changes or delays.
