The different specialized areas of expertise within project management are referred to as Project Management Knowledge Areas. These topics involve particular aspects of project management and include various procedures, strategies, and approaches utilized to efficiently deliver a project. The 10 knowledge categories, according to classic project management frameworks such as PMBOK (Project Management Body of Knowledge), are –
- Project Integration Management: Coordination and integration of various project elements, ensuring smooth execution.
- Project Scope Management: Defining, managing, and controlling the project’s scope to ensure that all required work is completed.
- Project Schedule Management: Planning, developing, and controlling the project’s schedule to ensure timely completion.
- Project Cost Management: Estimating, budgeting, and controlling costs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Project Quality Management: Ensuring that the project meets the required quality standards.
