A self-organizing team is similar to a group of friends arranging a potluck supper where everyone chooses their dish and knows what has to be done without being told every step. In projects, a team controls themselves, selecting how to approach tasks, who does what, and how they collaborate without continual direction from a manager. They’re like a well-oiled machine—they know their own abilities, communicate well, and find out the best approach to achieve their objectives without having to be micromanaged at every step. To get things done effectively, it need trust, collaboration, and everyone accepting responsibility.
