What is Risk Avoidance?

Risk avoidance in project management is similar to avoiding a possible problem entirely, similar to choosing an alternative route to work to escape a traffic congestion. It entails taking efforts to entirely avoid a dangerous scenario or behavior that might hurt or complicate the project. In layman’s words, it’s about avoiding a risk by not doing anything that might cause complications. Rather than dealing with the risk when it develops, the objective is to prevent it from occurring in the first place in order to keep the project safe.
