In project management, risk mitigation entails taking actions to limit or lessen the effect of anticipated problems before they become severe concerns. It’s similar to putting on sunscreen before going outside in the sun to avoid being burned. Simply said, it is about taking measures or creating preparations to reduce the likelihood of risks occurring or to mitigate their negative impacts if they do occur. It is a proactive technique aimed at preventing or minimizing the effect of future difficulties in order to keep the project going smoothly.
